No few that 21 Local Government Areas have registered to participate in the 11^th edition of Anambra State Grassroots Football Festival for U-13, U-15 and U-17 championship, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

The competition is scheduled to commence from 17 – 25 August, 2019 in Nnewi, Anambra state.

The competition is organised annually by the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) Anambra state chapter. The Secretary of the Organising committee, Coach Ralph Nweke confirmed to Best Choice Sports that 21 LGA of the state has indicated their interest to participate in this competition.

On his part, the State chairman YSFON Charles Onwuzulike warned all teams not to parade overaged players as the committee would not tolerate such.

Meanwhile, the traditional ruler of Nnewi community, Igwe KON Orizu III has given his royal blessings to the competition to be hosted in Nnewi. The opening ceremony of the competition is slated for 18th August 2019 at Ifeanyi Ubah stadium Nnewi.

The transition chairman of Nnewi North LGA, Hon. Chukwudi Orizu is expected to declare the event open.
