150 Taekwondoists To Participate In Federation National Events

No fewer than 150 athletes are scheduled to participate in the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation’s quartet of June national programmes scheduled to hold at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja, between 20 and 28 June 2019, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report

The change was inevitable after the historic renaming of the stadium from Abuja National Stadium to MKO National Stadium by the President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, during the June 12 inauguration held earlier Wednesday at the Eagle Square in Abuja, the Nation’s capital.

Speaking after he was been during his Democracy Day Speech, the president said
“Today, I propose the renaming of the Abuja National Stadium. Henceforth it will be called the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.”

It could be recalled that the Nigerian President had sanctioned the moving and renaming of the Democracy day from May 29 to June 12, in honour of the Late Chief Moshood Abiola, reputed to be the winner of the 1993 Presidential elections held on 12 June 1993.

The Taekwondo Federation had a whirlwind of major national events already lined up at the newly renamed National Stadium.

National Programmes of the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation in June 2019
include a National Referee Workshop, a National Black Belt Grading, a World Taekwondo Global Membership System Club Admin Course for Nigeria Taekwondo Club owners and the highly anticipated National Seniors Open Trials Championships.

Registration for the event is taking place through the World Taekwondo Global Membership System – Nigeria,
