English Premier League club Chelsea has finally sold Nigerian defender Kenneth Omeruo to La Liga outfit Leganes on a five-year deal.

Omeruo joined Chelsea in 2012 but did not kick the ball in a competitive game for the side.

He has played on loan with ADO Den Haag, Middlesbrough, Kasımpasa, Alanyaspor, and Leganes.

The 25-year-old was impressive last season for Leganes where he made 28 league appearances for the Manuel Pellegrino’s men, and the La Liga outfit has been pushing to sign the Super Eagles player on a permanent basis.

Chelsea had initially rejected a €4m bid from Leganes, but the Spanish club increased the fee to €4.5m, which was also rejected as the Blues believe the defender is worth €6m.

But agreement has finally been reached, and Chelsea have reportedly accepted €4.5m.

Omeruo signed a five-year deal that will now keep him at the club till the summer of 2024.
