“It was our last preparatory game for the 7th Dreamland/Embassy of Hungary Cup. Usually when we are preparing our team for a major competion, we start with lesser games and end it with a tougher one. The last game we usually approach it like our first game of the tournament to fully asscess the strenght of the team.
“So now I can tell you that we are very ready to defend the trophy. Besides, we still have about 70% of the boys that won the last edition and the few new ones in the team has learn quite fast.
“You can recall that we played Nnewi United and Udala FC in our last two games and won 1-0 and 2-0 respectively.
“This time we tried a tougher opponent and we lost 1 -2. Although the objective was not for us to go and win Ifeanyiuba rather to use the game to finally access the team’s readiness and make corrections where neccessary and that is what we achieved.
“Kudos to the players, the technical crew and the back room staff for given the NPFL side a run for their money.
“Remember this team has been unbeaten until today (yesterday) since winning the trophy in the last edition. Really, I am proud of them if for nothing, at least for getting the trophy for us for the first time in the sixth editions. I know all eyes are on them but I can tell you they are not gonna play under pressure rather they will enjoy themselves with a good brand of fooftball.”
