Nigeria made it a hat trick of win at the IHF International Challenge Trophy (Continental Phase) hosted in Conakry, Guinea on Friday with an emphatic 38-12 victory over Zambia.

The national under 18 female handball team, who had previously defeated, host Guinea with a slim 32-31 win and then put Cameroon to sword with a 35-22 victory, didn’t find it easy in the first as it was a keenly contested affair but they eventually won 14-10 over the resilient Zambians.

The second half was, however, a blow out as the Nigerian cadet girls annihilated Zambia 24-2 to win 38-12.

Idowu Abdulrasaq, who scored 16 goals was the stand out player for Nigeria and was voted the Most Valuable Player for the game.

Nigeria look good to win the competition and qualify to represent Africa in the IHF intercontinental Trophy Challenge as they play Uganda tomorrow.
