In what could be regarded as rascallity, ugly incidents marred the matcheday 2 of the Nigeria National League encounter between Dynamite Force FC and Gateway United when the Owner of Dynamite Mr. Bernard Jonah, allegedly attacked and injured Gateway United official, Afolabi Ogundimu after the final whistle in Edo Saturday, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report

Gateway United FC picked first away point in a hard fought draw against host Dynamite Force FC in the 2018/2019 Nigeria National League week 2 encounter at University of Edo football pitch.

But that scoreline did not go down well with the home fans who, according Gateway Media Officer, Moses Ojewumi in a release sent to our correspondent, Dynamite fan jumped into the pitch to attack the Assistant Referee after the centre referee disallowed a goal the team scored which was ruled offside.

“The contest became tensed as both teams frantically went in search of a lead. Akeem Busari-tutored side went on a swift counter with Godspower Igbah nodding the ball onto the path of Abdul-Azeez Salam who smashed the ball past Dynamite goalie Ohaji Chinedu but the referee controversially overruled it for offside.

“In the dying minutes, Dynamite forward Salifu Haruna got the ball into the net with a flying header from an offside position which was sighted by the assistant referee and disallowed.

“The referee decision sparked reactions which saw a fan jumped onto the pitch to challenge the lineswoman but the policemen around were able to restore normalcy.

“Also, there was an undue interference from the owner of the home team Mr Bernard Jonah who was at some point at the sideline intimidating the lineswoman.

“The encounter snowballed into a tension soaked affair. However, Gateway United FC ensured that the spoils were shared in a goalless stalemate.

“Ugly scenes surfaced after the match. A gateway United official Afolabi Ogundimu was left with a bloody nose following an attack by the owner of Dynamite Force FC Mr. Bernard Jonah,” the release read.
