Aggrieved football stakeholders in Kwara state have blasted Thompson Oladimeji for lack of proper soccer knowledge after the relegation of Kwara United.

Despite the millions spent on the team last season by the last administration, Kwara United were unable to maintain their status in the Professional League.

Football lovers in the state have now accused the chairman of the club Oladimeji for not being competent enough considering how he has been running the club without any target or vision.

Despite maximum monetary support from the government last season, Kwara United cannot beat their chests of having five complete signed players as most of all their players were registered on loan.

“How can government be spending huge amount on the club every month without any result?

“The management of Kwara United are only interested in what goes to their pocket alone and that’s why the club relegated.

“Imagine a club chairman who does not even know his players. A chairman who will never come to the stadium to watch the team anytime they have a match. Is that one a good leader?

“He has no skills of motivating players when their morales are down and people close to him won’t advise him because of what they collect from him,” one of the strong stakeholders named Abdulgafar Suleiman explained.

Another stakeholder also accused Oladimeji of bribing each candidates who voted in the last Kwara FA election with the sum of N50, 000 each so as for his candidate Musa to become chairman.

Mr Shola Adepoju said Oladimeji financed a candidate to become Kwara FA chairman whereas he claimed the club had no money to pay the bonuses of Kwara United players last season.

“This man does not know how to handle a football team and he should rather face his business. But what do we expect when he has bribed some SWAN members for them not to report the truth,”

A good and popular fan of Kwara United who has been following the team for the past 10 years named Ahmed Badmus also challenged Oladimeji to point to one development he has brought to Kwara United since he has been in charge.

“He knows nothing about football and I don’t know why he is running around for him to remain as chairman of the club.

“Oladimeji should tell Kwarans the reason why Kwara United official jersey has been hanging somewhere in Lagos despite the deposit of 1m government money and refused to balance up,”. Badmus explained.

Oladimeji who is a stooge to ex Senate President Bukola Saraki was appointed Kwara United chairman four years ago, and during his reign, the club failed to win any title, but got relegated to the lower League
