150 Women Participate In IBB Ladies Close Championship

No few than 150 women will Saturday participate at the on-going 20th edition of IBB Ladies Close Championship in Abuja, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

Lady Captain, IBB International Golf Country Club, Nanfe Audu disclosed this in an interview Friday.

Mrs Audu who was excited over the championship added that over 67 women participated at the event in Abuja Friday.

The Lady Captain who stated that the essence of the championship was to foster relationship among the women golfers, noted that the winner of the competition will have her name engraved on the Wall of Fame of the Club.

“The programme is the 20th anniversary of the IBB Ladies Close Championship. It is a tournament that foster relationship among the lady golfers in Abuja. It also determine how strong, resilient and good the ladies are in golf.  It also determine how the overall winner will emerge.

“Basically, it is about fostering relationship among the lady golfers.

“The competition is a two-day event played over 36 holes. We have about 67 ladies who are participating only in Abuja. And we have over 150 women who will be playing on Saturday.

“The winners name will be engraved on the Wall of Fame of the club as champion for the year. All through the year, she will remain the champion of the ladies Club,” she said.

The championship which commenced Friday will end Saturday, October 19.
