The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF on Friday aborted the yet to commence 2019/2020 Nigeria Women Football Legaue, NWFL and Nationwide League One, NLO as well as the 2020 Federation Cup, also referred to as Aiteo Cup Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

The abortion of the leagues was part of virtual meeting resolution held by the federation with heads of other leagues – NPFL, NNL, NWFL and NLO duly represented.

NFF attributed the cancellation of the leagues and the FA Cup to the ravaging novel coronavirus which led to suspension of football activities in the country since March.

Announcing the abortion of the leagues via a release , NFF noted that the both NWFL and NLO 2020/2021 seasons will commence between September and October 2020 and end in May 2021.

“The yet-to-commence NWFL 2019/2020 season is aborted,” the federation said

Adding that “The NWFL 2020/2021 to start from September/October 2020 and end May 2021 subject to the full reopening of the country and the approval of the health authorities”

On the NLO, the statement notes “The yet to commence NLO 2019/2020 Season aborted.

“There will be no promotion to or relegation from NLO.

“The NLO 2020/2021 season will start from September/October 2020 to end May 2021 subject to the full reopening of the country and the approval of the health authorities.
