2020 National Sports Festival: MOC/LOC INSPECT Facilities In Edo Friday

Barely three weeks to the commencement of the 20 edition of National Sports Festival, NSF in Benin, Edo state capital, the ministry of youth and sports will on Friday, in conjunction with the festival’s Local Organising Committee, LOC conduct the last batch of facilities inspection across the hosting venue in the state, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report
Tagged “Edo 2020” with opening day ceremony scheduled on March 22nd, till the 1st of April, 2020, the Main Organising Committee, MOC in synergy with the LOC will jointly be inspecting facilities which cuts across sporting venues, hostel accommodation, medical centres, and other needs that will ensure a successful festival.
The Governor of the state Godwin Obaseki has consistently assured of the readiness of the state to host what is regarded as “Nigeria’s Olympics” and good people of Edo state to break a laudable record of success of the festival.
Governor Obaseki nicknamed “Wake and See Governor” with his great sporting loving Deputy Governor who is also the Chairman of LOC, Philip Shuiabu, are leaving no stone unturned to ensure State of the Art Modern sporting facilities are in place for the festival. It’s been authenticated that as at today, all facilities are 95% completed. Edo state is highly commended for this milestone commitment that is a testimony to the expected success of the festival.
The Federal Government (FG) on the other hand which holds the Chairman of the MOC who is the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports development (FMYSD) Mr Gabriel Tanimu Aduda has also alongside the visionary minister Mr Sunday Dare been working round the clock to plug any loose end in all facets of the festival. Dare has assured of adequate security and massive publicity which is his professional area.
The 20th NSF organisers havehad several Joint Technical meetings with all state Directors, Zonal Coordinators, Sport Icons and Stakeholders in attendance. The games village that will host about eleven thousand, five hundred (11,500 ) athletes is being scheduled to open from the 20th of March and will be closed on the 2nd of April, 2020.
All is now set for the 20th NSF, Edo 2020 with this final inspection and meeting of the MOC and the LOC.
It is just proper to greet the efforts of the FG in concert with the rare commendable stride of the Edo state Governor, HE, Mr Godwin Obaseki and his matching Deputy Governor Rt. Comrade Philip Shaibu who also recently adopted an athlete in support of the Honourable Minister, Mr Sunday Dare’s brilliant initiative.
It is great to report that the Governor Godwin Obaseki and the Deputy Rt. Comrade Philip Shaibu who truly share a common dream are ready to take Edo state to the Zenith and Peak Height position which the state had enjoyed before. Nigerians in unison wish them their dream vision of success.
