The Niger Tornadoes recorded a vital win against Katsina United in the last game of a three match banishment to Abuja in the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL 2022 season

Early goals from Ahmadu Liman and Shamsudeen Hashim set the torn for the Minna based side triumph in what was a spectacular first half display.

Speeding Ahmadu Liman perfectly controled the ball, beats his marker and buried the ball passed Abubakar Adamu in goal for Katsina United in the twentieth minute to break the deadlock.

Moments later, Shamsudeen Hashim connected well to Jacob John’s corner kick to nod home from a close range and hand Niger Tornadoes the initiative.

Several other forays into the opposition’s end in search of another goal proved abortive.

The tempo of the home team game diminished towards the dying moments of the half as the Chanji Boys ceased momentum, pressure paid off for them when Faisal Sani finds himself in a good position and nicely place the ball beyond helpless George Michael.

It was a dramatic end to the half time when the centre referee pointed to the spot kick after spotting a foul on Shamsudeen Hashim in the box, but the call was later overturned after consultation with the AR 1 whose flagg was up for what he adjudged to be an offside against the man down.

Second half produced no goals between both sides as the referee signalled the end of the game.
