Newly promoted sides, and Benue State owned male and female teams, Benue Buffaloes and Benue Queens, in that order, will make their debut today in the 2022 Prudent Energy Handball Premier League season in Abuja with strong opponents set to indoctrinate them into the league.

Benue Buffaloes will have their baptism of fire against giants, Lagos Seasider in the opening match of the male category by 7am Monday

Their sisters, Benue Queens, will face experienced Imo Grasshoppers in the afternoon in the female category.

However, the Venue teams are not afraid of anyone as they aim to make a huge impact in the leagues. Assistant Coach of the side, Michael Tangara told Best Choice Sports that though they are new comers, they have all it takes to be feared in the two leagues disclosing that they are ready to explore their opportunities

“We are ready. We are new comers and we hope we will do well in the league maybe be in the top 6,” he started.

“Maintaining our league status at the end of the season is what is most important to us at the moment.

“As far as I am concerned, there are no giants. We know what is happening in the league, we will take our chances. It is one game at time and we have 11 games to play.
And at the end of it all, we will see what will happen, he concluded.
