Stakeholders who are anxious to see the Nigeria elite premier league back in the stadiums across the nation may wait longer as the league organisers have continued to keep sealed lips over the date of the commencement of the new season.

This is coming as the Interim Management Committee, IMC has threatened to deregister clubs who failed to comply with the deadline date of submission of Club licensing for the 2022/2023 Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL season.

The league organisers disclosed this in a circular sent to all NPFL clubs as it regards compliance with club licensing.

While noting that “preparations care in top gear” for the commencement of the new season, the IMC vowed to foreclose any club that failed to meet up with November 7 deadline for submission of club licensing

“Following the formal inauguration of the interim Management Committee (IMC) by the Nigeria Football Federation on 21 October 2022, we wish to assure ALL NPFL CLUBS that preparations for the commencement of the 2022/2023 season are in top gear.

“You are therefore advised to accelerate your preparation for the new season, especially as it concems the Club Licensing process. Note that Club Licensing is a prerequisite for participation in the Nigeria Professional Football League. and failure to complete the process before 7 November 2022 may lead to your club being foreclosed.

“The above is for your information and immediate compliance,” the letter signed by the Chief Executive Officer/Head of Operation, NPFL, Davidson Owomi said.
