Delta State Football Association has announced the start date for the 2024 State League, alongside the release of fixtures, venues, and match times for the 32 clubs gearing up for this eagerly awaited competition.

According to the Chairman of the Delta State Football Association, Honourable Ken Nwamucha, the league will kick off on August 21, 2024, with matches distributed across four primary centers: Agbor, Ogwashi-Uku, Oleh, and Sapele.

“This year’s State League promises a dynamic, thrilling, and high-caliber grassroots football experience, showcasing the incredible talents of clubs throughout the state,” Nwamucha affirmed.

He extended his praise to the League Management Committee for their meticulous work in executing a seamless registration process, despite the overwhelming demand from club managements.

“Excitement is at an all-time high for this year’s state league. While every club in Delta State is eager to join, accommodating them all isn’t feasible. Nevertheless, the League Committee has skillfully managed the challenges, and we are all eagerly anticipating an extraordinary showcase of grassroots football talent and a spirit of international camaraderie,” Nwamucha added.

The 2024 season is set to be a milestone for football in Delta State, with concerted efforts to expand the league’s reach and invigorate the competitive atmosphere across the region.
