2025 PRODA Games Festival Begins In Enugu, Staff Battle for N.5 Million Prize

The management of Project Development Institute, PRODA, Enugu Wednesday kicked off their third edition of their annual games festival with football, Volleyball and Table Tennis.


The 3rd Edition of the Festival geared towards creating a united, focused agency, also it produced new games such as Chess, Dart and Draughts.

Kicking off the games, the PRODA Director General Engr. Dr. Peter Okwudili Ogbobe, told journalists that the essence if the Festival is to revive recreational activities as well as promote healthy living and entrenchment of philosophy of sportsmanship in achieving t
Engr Ogbobe said that in the games, everybody is a winner, stressing that the essence of the game is to ensure communality of the staff who take the opportunity to wind off.


“In the competition, we are all winners. Everybody is a winner, because we want to have fun. Make sure that you don’t injure anybody,” Ogbobe charged the players.

“The main purpose of the game is for us to have a sense of communality , come together, play together and then leave office environment and relate as if we are one, one family, one brother, sister, devoid of any rancour, selfishness and quarrels,” he said.


For the football category, Ogbobe said that the winners will get a cash prize of N300,000.00, while the first runner up with get N200,000.00.
In the same breadth, there is also consolation prizes for Volley Ball, Table Tennis, Chess and other games.

Speaking on the inter-agency games that took place last year, Ogbobe disclosed that PRODA contingents performed well and took third position among the research institutes in the South East.

He expressed the belief that as times goes on, the games will become more interested as more games will be introduced.
