Less than two months after the end of last season where Liverpool emerge Champions after their 30 years wait, the premier league resumes this weekend and of course we expects the glamour and fire works from the blast of the whistle in the first game which happens to be a London derby between Fulham and Arsenal at the Craven Cottage.

Although some are not happy with the way the last season ended due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, as some believed their team would have performed better if not for the long break, some also believed they wouldn’t have been relegated. Some teams who failed to secure promotion to the premier league felt it would have been a different story if not for the pandemic but all well and good, the stage is set for another 380 games and we pray there be no stop this time around.

Fulham, Leeds United and West Bromwic Albion will get to rub shoulders with the big boys although none of them is new to the premier league and I won’t be surprise if one of them gets to finish in European places at the end of the season.

Every team will get to kick the ball on the first weekend except for the two Manchester teams and their opponents whose game has been postponed due to their European engagements last season where they go to the quarter and semi finals respectively.

The battle will start at the Craven Cottage Stadium with Fulham looking to better their last outing in the Premier League where they got relegated after one season, and Arsenal will want to put up a convincing performance to show their fans that their wins against Chelsea and Liverpool in the FA CUP and Community Shield wasn’t a fluke.

The defending Champions, Liverpool will look to blow away Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United in a bid to defend their title.

It promised to be an interesting encounter at the Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium where two former Premier League Champions go head to head (Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti).

Leicester City with Nigerian duo of Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho will look to better their poor performances after the pandemic last season where they dropped from Champions League places to Europa League when they face West Brom.

Will the first week result determine how teams will perform during the season or not, will Liverpool defend their title, will Manchester City wake from their last season’s slumber, will Manchester United have their hands on the trophy for the first time pro Alex Ferguson, will Mourinho win his fourth title, will Ancelotti win it again with another team, will Mikel Arteta shock the World again has he has done recently or are we going to see another surprise as we witnessed with Leicester City during the 2016 season, of course time they say will tell.
