Sadiq Umar Targets Promotion To La Liga With Almeria

2016 Olympic bronze winner, Sadiq Umar has disclosed that his priority with his Spanish club, Almeria is to gain promotion to the elite league the country, La Liga

Almeria occupies 3rd position on the log in the Spanish Segunda Division with 38 points

Speaking with journalists from his base in Spain, Umar recounted that playing against his boyhood club he has supported, Manchester United in Europa League was an emotional one

“It was an emotional game for me, I can’t describe the feeling knowing full well that it was my boyish club. I do support Manchester United during my formative years playing against Manchester United becomes my memorable match so far in my football career.

“I played both home and away In Old Trafford but now as a professional footballer, my club is Almeria. I want to give my best and ensures my team return back to the elite league called La Liga.

“We are presently 3rd position on the log with 38 points we will keep pushing till the last day of the league. The tall lanky bronze medalist winner concluded by saying he is ready to play for the super eagles if given the chance by the gaffer of the senior national team,” he said.
