NPFL Matchday 38: A Plan To Relegate Abia Warriors To NNL?
As the 2020/2020 Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL climaxes this Thursday, August 8, 2021, there are palpable fears in some quarters in the football fraternity of intending plan to ensure that Abia State second team in the league, Abia Warriors is relegated to the lower league, Nigeria National League, NNL.
The Umuahia War Lords as they are called will on Thursday battle CAF Champions League ticket chasers, Nasarawa United in a decisive match.
The home team need a draw to remain in the elite league while the away team need an outright victory to confirm their CAF Champions League slot.
In a match of this magnitude, the League Management Company, LMC which is in charge of the league chose, surprisingly, to appoint a controversial referee, Ferdinand Udoh for this high-profile clash.
Eye brows have been raised in some quarters over the suitability of Mr Udoh for the match with many pointing accusing fingers to the LMC alleging plans to kick Abia Warriors out of the league.
Why then in a match of this Calibre, the League Management Company, LMC chose to appoint a controversial referee, Ferdinand Udoh for it?
Is their a game plan to send two South-East clubs on relegation after FC Ifeanyi Ubah could not escape the alleged plan abnitio to kick them out of the league?
It is also becoming pretty unlikely that no South-East club will play continental matches next season unless Enyimba do the magic, mostly unlikely, on the final day.
Why did LMC appoint Ferdinand Udoh as the centre referee for Abia Warriors Vs Nasarawa United last league match?
