Kogi United Football Club have set promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League as their priority ahead of Wednesday’s Nigeria National League, NNL scheduled kick off, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report
The Club’s chairman, Abdul Sule disclosed this in an interview after the draw for the eight-group NNL 2018/19 season was made on Friday last week.
The NNL Clubs president of presidents said that despite the fact that the Lokoja-based outfit targets promotion, the league will be challenging and difficult for all the clubs but expressed optimism that Kogi United has all it takes to surmount every obstacle that would come their way in the pursuit of top flight promotion.
“The draws have been made and irrespective of what anybody can think of it, the league is kicking off today. Everybody was happy for the league and we are going to have a great season.
“Kogi United target is to get to the premier league and we are well-prepared for the challenge. It is not going to be an easy task coming against some of the clubs but we are well-prepared. We are not afraid of anybody.
“We believe any team in our group is tough but they will not stop us from getting the promotion ticket at the end of the season.
“The league ending in two months will be hectic but that is what we choose because there no time to play the league. But there is nothing to be afraid of,” the former Super Eagles player said.
