Rivers United and Remo Stars are locked in negotiations over the proposed transfer of Super Eagles midfielder Alex Oyowah ahead of the new Nigeria Premier Football League season.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has established himself as one of the NPFL’s brightest talents, thanks to his consistent performances in recent seasons.

Oyowah played a key role in Remo Stars’ historic league title triumph two seasons ago and has continued to attract interest from top clubs in the country.

Rivers United are eager to add the creative midfielder to their squad, but talks between the two clubs have reached a standstill despite ongoing discussions.

Rivers United are willing to match Remo Stars’ asking price for the player.

However, negotiations have been complicated by disagreements over the length of Oyowah’s proposed contract and a 50 percent sell-on clause demanded by Remo Stars.

Oyowah represented Nigeria at the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN), where he was named Man of the Match after an outstanding performance in the team’s final game against Congo.

It remains uncertain whether both clubs will resolve their differences and complete the transfer in the coming days.
