The future continues to look bright for young Nigerian defender Mutari Momoh, after earning his first competitive start for NK Istra and playing the full game in Croatian Cup game on Tuesday evening

It was a game to remember for Momoh, who at 18 years old and standing at 196cm was very resolute in the defence with his inteligent tackles and aerial prowess, as his club NK Istra tore to shreds Zagorec 5-0 at away.

The former Mavlon Fc player joined NK Istra in January transfer window of 2026 and he has developed tremendousy, becoming an integral member of the squad.

During the summer holiday, Momoh was invited to the Flying Eagles camp in preparation for the WAFU U20 championship in Cote d’ Ivoire, where his quality was glaringly seen by all in training sessions.

Abdu Maikaba, the head of coach of the team already had him in his plans, but after resuming for pre- season at NK Istra, the club refused him to join Flying Eagles for the WAFU B U20 championship.

His faultless performance in the heart of the defence of NK Istra in the demolition of Zagorec has shown that he will be very important for the club this season.
