Abees Football Academy Monday defeated FC International 1-0 in the opening match of the maiden edition of the ZOOMAX 8-Team Invitational Tournament in Abuja to herald the epic competition on Monday

Philip Ejike won the Man of the Match award as he displayed his electric pace, dribbling runs and penetrativeness prowess during the encounter.

Damilola Majero scored the only goal of the match in the 3rd minute

Abees Vs FC International which took place at the Old Parade Ground, Area 10, Abuja, was one of the four matches played in the opening day of the competition.

In other matches, CASMAT FC lost 3-1 to Digital Foot at the same venue while TBC FC scored 3 goals to beat WACO Academy who scored only one at Area 3 Play Ground, Garki.

Wisdom Ikuesan scored a historic goal as his opener in 60 seconds for gave CASMAST the lead in their encounter against TBC FC but the latter rallied to win the match courtesy of Isaiah Monday (51′), Amarachi Ekelemhen (58′) and Jacob Iyua’s 70 minute goals turned the table in their favour

In the last match of the day at Area 3, Samuel Agu, scored a brace in a space of 3 minutes as
Karu Football Academy triumphed 2-1 over Garki FC in the last match. Garki FC’s lone goal was scored by Rilwan Ibrahim in the 53rd minute.

Agu akpa won Man of the Match , MOTM award at the end of the encounter.

The Matchday 2 fixtures of the tournament hold today across the two match venues.

Two matches will hold at the the Area 3 Play Ground with FC Digital Foot squaring up against FC International in the second match of the day by 12noon.

The other match at the same venue by 2pm will be between CASMAT FC and Abees Academy.

At Old Parade Ground, Garki FC will trade tackle with WACO Academy by 10am whereas Karu Academy will slug it out with TBC FC by 12noon.
