Abia Warriors Braced Up For League Resumption, Target Continental Ticket

Abia Warriors Sporting Director, Patrick Ngwaogu has disclosed that the players of the Umuahia based club are ready to return to the field of play any time the League Management Company (LMC) call for the restart of the suspended 2019/2020 football season, Bestchoicesports.com.ng reports
Ngwaogu, who made this known in Abuja, said the management is in constant touch with the players and the technical crew, and also ensured that they adhere strictly to their weekly training programme, and observe all precautionary measures against the ravaging coronavirus also referred to as COVID 19.
The Sporting Director emphasised that the players safety and health is Paramount to the management noting that every step must be taken to ensure that they are coronavirus free now that they are out of camp.
Ngwaogu said the management has maintained its obligations of paying the players their salaries and allowances pending when the league would resume.
“All we want them to do is to keep safe and observe all the precautionary safety measures as outlined by the Federal Ministry of Health and National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
“Also the technical crew send the players weekly training programme to keep them in shape and fit pending when the league will restart.
“It will interest you to know that our players and officials receive their full salary every month despite the lockdown and suspension of football activities in the country.
“Our target is to make the club the best in the country by putting solid structure in place and increase the fans base. We are working towards self sustainability and less dependent on the state government.
“I can honestly tell you that Abia Warriors Football Club is now a household name in Nigeria football,” he said.
Ngwaogu concluded that the club is working hard to ensure they obtain a ticket to represent Nigeria at the CAF inter- club competitions soonest.
