ABL FCT Football Tournament Final Holds On Saturday At Moshood Abiola Stadium

The final of the Adedayo Benjamin-Laniyi BAL football Tournament will hold on Saturday at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.
The founder of the competition, Mrs Adedayo Benjamin-Laniyi, a media entrepreneur and politician disclosed this during a media interaction in Abuja on Wednesday
Mrs Benjamin-Laniyi, a former Federal Capital Territory, FCT under the All Progressive Congress, APC said the essence of the competition is to empower youths and unite the country.
“This initiative, the Adedayo Benjamin-Laniyi sports competition is an expression of premium sports for unity and indeed propelling our Nigerian youth through grassroots representation in the six area councils of the FCT,” she stated.
ABL FCT Unity football championship is aimed at fostering unity and discovering grassroots talents for the national teams.
The tournament which began on July 8th will climax on Saturday 29th July 2023.
On his part, the Federal Capital Territory’s Director of Sports, Mr Luka Istifanus, stated that the players that will be discovered from the competition will represent FCT at the Gateway 2024 National Sports Festival in Ogun State.
“I’m happy that the women have come of age challenging men in organising viable programmes that will empower the youth. This programme is being watched globally and our football coaches were mandated to scout talents that will represent FCT at the next year’s National Sports Festival in Ogun State,” Istifanus said.
A total of 80 teams with 1200 players registered for the competition which the founder said will unite the people and forester a prosperous Nigeria
