AFCON 2019 Will Not Affect NLO Season – Ogunnowo
Chief Operating Officer (COO) Nationwide Laegue One (NLO), Olushola Ogunnowo, has said that the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt will not stop the 2018/2019 league season from going on, bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.
Speaking on the commencement date for the season, the COO said that the Congress ratification of decisions taken will determine the date for the new season adding that the Division One of the league will commence soon, then follow by Division Two and Three.
“The Nations Cup has no business affecting the NLO, just the way World Cup didn’t affect some leagues when it was held in Russia. We saw it in Russia, the World Cup was on and their local league was on as well. So, we will try avoid to play in a day the Super Eagles will be playing
“Basically, the AGM is to look into last season’s activities & endorse and ratifying all decisions taken last years & ensuring that we commence this season by giving us kick off date for the season and further instruction that will affect the league to the Congress for ratification
