AFCON Qualifiers: No Friendly Matches For Super Eagles
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will on March 22 tackle the Squirrels of Benin Republic but the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has disclosed that there will be no friendly match for the three-time Africa champions ahead of the clash in Port Novo, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report
The federation explained that since there won’t be FIFA window for friendly matches before the game, it would not be possible to organise a match for the Eagles.
The NFF however, assured that the Eagles would pick the vital points in Port Novo.
Meanwhile, two former Nigeria internationals, Henry Nwosu and Ifeanyi Udeze, speaking with The Guardian, have called on the NFF to put modalities in place to ensure the Super Eagles beat the Squirrels of Benin Republic and book the ticket for the 2022 AFCON.
Super Eagles would be playing their last game of the AFCON qualifier on March 30 against Lesotho.
Nigeria is currently leading the AFCON group standing with a point ahead of the rivals, Benin Republic.
