AFN Expresses “Shock” Over Okagbare’s Disqualification

Athletic Federation of Nigeria, AFN has expressed “shock” over the disqualification of Nigeria’s track athlete, Blessing Okagbare from further participating at the ongoing 32nd edition of Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, Bestchoicesport.com.ng can report.
Ms Okagbare was Saturday morning suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unity, AIU for testing positive for banned substance “Humam Growth Hormone” HGH.
Factional President of the AFN, Tony Okowa who conveyed the federation’s feelings said it is working to obtain the relevant details of the announcement before it could react
“The Athletics Federation of Nigeria has received with great shock, the press release by the Athletics Integrity Unit, suspending Blessing Okagbare for a doping test violation.
”The Federation is in the process of obtaining the relevant details of the announcement after which a full react will be issued,’ the shirt statement read
Ms Okagbare’s suspension brings it to 11 Nigerian athletes that have been disqualified from the Olympics over testing issues.
Recall that 10 athletes from Team Nigeria were on Wednesday disqualified from the Games for failing to carry out there out-of-competition tests prior to the Olympics.
