Again, Another NPFL Player Goes “Missing”

Perhaps, the last has not been heard about the spate of “missing” players in the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL in recent times.
In the past two weeks, two players have been declared “missing” by clubs in the league including Sunshine Stars who declared the leading goal scorer in the league, Israel Abia AWOL – absent without leave – only for him to be “found” in Enugu with Rangers International FC.
This time around, the Mountain of Fire and Miracle, MFM Club have declared Oriyomi Murtala lawal missing.
In a release signed by the club’s director, Davidson Adejuwon, it noted that Mr Lawal left the club on 15th January, 2020 without the club knowing his whereabouts.
The club warned that any Club or agent approaching the player for the purpose of transfer without the Club’s approval will face the risk of a lawsuit
“Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries FC wishes to inform the general public, most especially the Clubs in Nigerian Football Leagues about one of its players, ORIYOMI MURTALA LAWAL who is presently AWOL.
“The player left the Club on the 15th, January, 2020, a night before our home game against Jigawa Golden Stars without the knowledge nor approval of the club’s management.
“MFM FC warn that any Club or agent approaching the player for the purpose of transfer without the Club’s approval will face the risk of a lawsuit, as the Player is contracted to MFM FC,” the statement Friday read
It could be recalled that Sunshine Stars of Akure on December 31th, 2019 declared Israel Abia “missing” only for him to sign for NPFL relegation struggles, Rangers of Enugu.
