Technical Adviser of Bayelsa United, Diepreye Teibowei says the 2020/2021 AITEO Cup will provide another opportunity for the team to compete for ticket in the continent after years of absence.

Coach Teibowei in an interview with the club media ahead of the round of 32 fixture against Nigeria National League NNL campaigners Nigerian Air Force NAF Fc at the Ilorin Township Stadium said they would approach Sunday’s encounter like a cup final.

He noted that with current crop of players in the squad and the team sprit the target of Bayelsa United was to go beyond the round of 32 before facing Enugu Rangers in the round 16, describing the most prestigious football competition in the country as the best chance to advertise outside Nigeria.

Reflecting on the team’s current position in group B2 of the southern conference in the Nigeria National League NNL Coach Diepreye Teibowei believes it is not impossible for an NNL team to win AITEO cup.

He acknowledged that Bayelsa United are as good as any other team in the country despite playing in the second tier of the league.
