The newly re-elected leader of Abuja Municipal Area, Football Coaches Council, Mr Kenny Owojori has described his victory as a trust for continuity even as he has set out priority areas his next four years in office will focused on, www.bestchoicesports.com.nh can report
Mr Owojori was on Saturday returned for a second four-year term in office as the number football coach in AMAC.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with our correspondent, Bawa Jephthah, the FC Liberty Coach said his second coming is for continuity and also to improve on areas not well captured during his first term.
“First and foremost, I want to thank my colleagues for the confidence and trust they have in my capacity. Coming back for a second term shows they believe in what we did in the first term.
“And I will tell you that this victory is for continuity. We will sustain what we have achieved so far and improve on other areas where we did not factor in during the first term,” he said
He enumerated the two cardinal programmes the new Executive Council would pursue in the next four years.
“Education of the coaches is paramount. All the coaches we have in our council are qualified. Some have CAF A, B or C while others have the basic qualification which is the NIS, Nigeria Institute of Sports, certificate.
“So we will push for our members to continue to enhance their knowledge and progress along the ladder of their qualification.
“Another basic agenda is welfare of members. We are going to give every member a sense of belonging. Celebrate with them when they are rejoicing and mourn with them when the reverse is the case.
“We will also look out for other avenues to improve on our membership as well as maintaining good raport with our colleagues in other councils,” he said.
Mr Owojori and his other 10 Executive Council members were re-elected unopposed to pilot the affairs of the Council for the next four years.
The election which had majority of the members in attendance was conducted at the Area 3 Sports Complex Garki Abuja under the supervision of the FCT Football Coaches Association Chairman, Bartholomew David.
