Anambra State FA Boss, Ifeanyi Ubah Lauds Electoral Committee On Virtual Election

Newly reelected Anambra State Football Association, ANSFA Chairman, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah has lauded the 2020 ANSFA Electoral Committee for their innovative and pragmatic steps in conducting a free, fair and transparent election into the FA’s Executive Committee Board, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

Senator Ubah made the commendation following the successful virtual conduct of the 2020 ANSFA election on Sunday, August 2nd.

With the feat achieved, ANSFA has become the first Football Federation in Nigeria to set the record on online election.

Senator Ubah thus salutes the Electoral committee headed by Jude Anyadufu for standing firm in the face of intimidation and threats.

Senator Ubah who represents Anambra South Senatorial District in the 9th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has expressed satisfaction with the maturity and transparency with which the electoral committee conducted the Anambra state FA elections.

Senator Ubah, who is also a respected member of CAF AFCON organising committee was returned unopposed as chairman, after a successful first tenure that saw Anambra FA stand out as a model in football administration in Nigeria.

In his thank you message after the conclusion of the virtual election, Ubah was also full of praise for the Anambra state football association congress for remaining resolute and committed to the successful completion of the process.

“Atleast it will go down in history, that the first virtual election conducted in the history of association football in Nigeria was done in Anambra state. What the members of the electoral committee has done, is commendable because they have succeeded in writing their names in the history book as a set of gallant warriors who stood their grounds in the face of intimidation and threats. I want to commend them for a job well done” he concluded.

The president of FC Ifeanyi Ubah football club had earlier promised during his pre-election campaign that he plans to use the second term to consolidate on the achievements recorded in the last four years.

He stressed that he would invest more in grassroots football development and in capacity building for Anambra state football coaches and referees.
