Government Secondary School, GSS Giri and her counterpart, GSS Apo both delivered slim wins in match day 2 of the FWC Champions FCT Secondary Schools Football Tournament finals and have secured their place for another challenge.

GSS Apo was first to deliver a 2-1 win against GSS G/Lada after a keenly contested game.

Similar to what played out in match day 1, GSS Apo were goal shy until the second half brace by Auke Reishama which was enough to deliver a win.

GSS G/lada made an effort with a goal later on but the score line remained 2-1 until the sound of the final whistle.

For GSS Giri, it was a very slim win as they edged GSS Wuse Zone 3 by 1-0 to proceed to the next stage, all thanks to a strike by Ezekiel John in the second half.

The game played out to be one of the most competitive so far in this stage with a good fight from the day’s losers.

Final games continue on Thursday with the games between GSS Yangoji and GSS Garki and GSS Gwargada and GSS Zuba.
