For his developmental strives in nurturing and promoting grassroots football in the country, the Chief Executive Officer of foremost Nigeria football Academy, Atico Football Academy, Prince Adewale Atiba was last week bestowed with award of honour for his undaunted drive in football development in the country.

The award was given to Prince Atiba by the organiser of Prince Michael Atobatele Foundation (PMAF) Memorial Championship “as a Supportive Grassroots Football Development,” icon.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Bestchoicesports.com.ng, Prince Atiba described the award as a catalyst for him to do more.

“It is all about my involvement in grassroots football programme, organising different programmes of football at the grassroots level and private schools just to encourage the youths as far as football is concerned.

“The award will spur me to do more because that is my calling. I don’t have another job. I am into developing grassroots as far as football is involved. It is in my blood, it is my passion, it is what I love to do. Therefore, I will continue to do more,’ he said.

“We have programmes including acadmies, schools and club sides. Which is what people have seen and believe I am doing well and decided to show appreciation.

“We organise different grassroots football competitions such as the Proprietors Cup as well as the Independence Kids Cup

“The Independence Kids Cup always holds every October 1st. We have a lot outside these two.

“The very tournament for which I was given award was PMAF (Prince Michael Atebatole Foundation) Memorial Championship,” he concluded.

Atico Football Academy is based in Lagos State and Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The award was given to him on June 23rd during the final match in Lagos state.
