The Nigeria football Federation, NFF is watching with keen interest the exploits of the Authentic Nigeria Supporters club at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt where the group has successfully projected the image of Nigeria in good light and presented themselves as worthy ambassadors to the world. 

This much was confirmed by a member of the NFF executive committee who spoke on condition of anonymity. According to him, the NFF is aware of the giant strides taken by this group to break all the hurdles before them in a bid to accomplish their mission of supporting the Super Eagles at the Nations cup in Egypt. 

“They are the first group to arrive Egypt and have been very consistent with their support all through. On Saturday, they danced and sang sweet melodies that spurred the Eagles to victory against the stubborn lions of Cameroon. 

   We cannot pretend like we are not aware of this performances. We are watching with keen interest as we hope to identify with a group here in Egypt if we must come together as one united family to achieve our goal of winning the trophy. 

I am particularly encouraged when I heard that the team travelled down to Alexandria in two luxurious buses and were able to mobilize over one thousand supporters into the stadium to support the Super Eagles. It is not a surprise to us, to see the president general of the Nigeria football supporters club, Rafiu Ladipo move over to join them in the stands as they sang to the heavens for the entire duration of the match. 

I will personally make a recommendation to the NFF president so as to see how one or two of our sponsors can identify with them as official or title sponsors. I remember vividly that Globacom did same, sponsoring the Supporters club for many years and that helped to reduce the burden on them. 

We cannot pretend as if we are not aware of their existence or that we dont appeciate their good work. This group led by Ogunjimi Abayomi has really impressed all of us in the NFF and we will be making a recommendation soon to see how they can be supported and encouraged” he concluded. 

The Authentic Nigeria supporters club created just over three months ago, has grown so fast to become the best group out of the four  presently in existence. 

As at the time Nigeria took on Cameroon in that second round matchup in Alexandria, the chairmen of all three rival supporters clubs, were nowhere to be found in Egypt as information at our disposal, revealed that they were unable to secure travelling visas and are obviously stranded in Nigeria. 

It was therefore not a surprise to see that every Nigerian in Egypt and even Egyptians, have identified with the Authentic Nigeria supporters club, who are now looking so good to announce their presence as the true voice of Nigerian football and the NFF endorsed and approved Nigeria football supporters club.

The Authentic Nigeria supporters club and Nigeria number one betting company, Bet9ja, are poised to seal a mega deal that will make Bet9ja, the official shirt sponsor of the Abayomi Ogunjimi led group. 

While plans are still in the pipeline to make this dream a reality, the group played according to script, as they stormed Egypt cladded in beautiful attires that has the Bet9ja logo boldly printed on them..

This caught the attention of a few Egyptians and other tourists who kept asking questions about Bet9ja and the application of their betting odds. Some of these fans even made attempt to go on the App but realised along the line, that they can only play with the Nigerian currency and within the Nigerian territory. 

This however did not deter them from hoping that someday, the proprietor of Bet9ja will spread the gospel of betting beyond the shores of Nigeria so that football fans, especially in Africa, can leverage on the many opportunities available. 

One of the fans, Salif Muktar, said he has heard a lot about Bet9ga and sees the logo always on some sport websites. 

“Former Nigerian international Victor Ikpeba was my idle while playing for AS Monaco in France and anytime I see him on that Bet9ja promo I get excited and just want to be part of it. I wish someone will make my dream a reality someday as I cannot wait to play and win on the Bet9ja platform” he concluded.

The Authentic Nigeria supporters club will be hoping that their performance in Egypt, which has drawn commendation and applause from many, will further excite the chairman of Bet9ja, Kunle Soname, into accepting to partner with a group that is fast emerging as the true voice of Nigeria football supporters at the 2019 Africa cup of Nations holding in Egypt.
