Awka Township Stadium will be certified FIFA and CAF International Standard upon it’s completion.
These were the assertions of the CEO Monimichelle Sports Facility Construction Ltd, Mr. Ebi Egbe in an exclusive interview on Wednesday at the site of the ongoing stadium construction.
Egbe stated that the construction of the Awka Township Stadium will be in three phases, with the first phase expected to be completed by December 2020 addressing important requirements at the stadium such as Track and Field, Dressing rooms, terraces and changing rooms as well as the general aesthetics of the stadium.
Egbe pointed out that the second phase will address areas such as the Governor’s lounge, cubicles for sale to fan base during match days and press conference room while also noting that the third and final phase which will require temporal closure of the stadium for about six months will handle complete covering of the pavilions.
Egbe enthused that his company will put in technology that will make the Awka Township Stadium the best in the South East and South Zones with exception of the Goodwill Akpabio International Stadium. The FIFA licensed football agent said that Monimichelle is a company that uses local content as it understands the African market, the topography and the need to put in a facility that will stand the test of time.
Egbe emphasized that he is working on various points in the site where there are steep slope so as to develop slope protection and add beauty to the main bowl. He promised Ndi Anambra that the Awka Township Stadium will be the best mini stadium in sub-Saharan Africa.
