Bayelsa United Debunk Reports On Sacked Players

The management of Bayelsa United football club, has dismissed reports on social media that the Yenagoa based side have sacked some of their registered players for the 2019/2020 season.
The club in a statement by acting Chairman Mr. Odogu Ekpolaemi expressed displeasure over comments that the club have disengaged players without paying them their allowances and their entitlements describing it as baseless and untrue.
According to the statement, the players were retained by the management to enable the team prepare ahead of the new season pending on the report by the COVID-19 presidential Task Force to bring back sporting activities.
Mr. Ekpolaemi explained that the shortlisted players are still part of the team but not part of next season campaign and would continue to be part of the team pending when the Nigeria Football Federation NFF will officially cancel season.
The statement equally advises players and staff to remain safe and adhere with all NCDC protocol to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
He advises those spreading fake news on purported sacking of players to be guided and relate with the club to get the right information.
