Nigeria National League side, Bimo Sporting Club on Wednesday defeated Nigeria professional Football League campaigners Nasarawa United 2-0 in a preseason match played at the Area 3 Play Ground, Abuja.

The result came as a shock to the Solid Miners who were prematch favourite to win the encounter.

But Bimo SC had a surprise package for them as goals from ThankGod Ikeagwu and Nelso Ngei ensured that the gabe the NPFL side no respect.

The win is a moral booster for the Bimo boys who are preparing for the commencement of the 2019/20 NNL season.

The NNL new season is expected to start on November 2nd.

Speaking on the victory, the Chairman, Bimo Sporting Club, Chinedu Okoye said that the victory is a representation of the new philosophy of the club adding that the management is determined to ensure that the team moves to the next height.

“I am not surprised over the victory against Nasarawa United. We are building the team and our new philosophy is yielding results.

“A lot of people felt they will overrun us but the players were resolute. We are building and preparing for next season,” he told Best Choice Sports
