Breaking News: Abducted Adamawa United Driver Released

Adamawa United Driver who was abducted on Saturday when the players and officials of the team were robbed have been released, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report

The driver was released in the early hours of Thursday morning.

It was not clear at the time of this report if ransom was paid to effect his release but the kidnappers had earlier demanded for N50, million ransom before it was reportedly reduced to N1 Million.

It could be recalled that players and officials of Adamawa United FC were attacked and robbed at gun point around Benin – Ore Expressway on thier way for their week 11 NPFL fixture againt MFM FC in Lagos.

Thier phones, monies and other valuables were taken away by the criminals.

A player of the team Sadiq Lawan who was in bus said the incident happened at about 1130pm along Benin Ore road .

Adamawa United are yet to issue official statement in the release but a video of the release driver watched by our reporter shows the driver thanking all who made his release possible.

In the 44 minutes video, the driver said he was in Anambra State After his release.
