Benitez sack was announced by the club on Sunday afternoon.

Everton confirmed Benitez sack via their website.

“Everton Football Club can confirm the departure of Rafael Benitez as First Team manager.

“Benitez, who joined Everton in June 2021, has left the Club with immediate effect.

“An update on a permanent replacement will be made in due course,” the club said.

Benitez was sacked after Everton lost 2-1 away to relegation strugglers Norwich City on Saturday.

The Toffees are 16th on the long from 21 matches with 19 points, 3 points above the drop zone.
