Breaking News: Remo Stars Withdrawals From 2023 NPFL Season

Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL side, Rome Stars Football Club have announced its withdrawal from the 2023 league season.
The club in a statement on Saturday said they will not participate further in the league nor any football activities organised by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF
“Remo Stars FC after careful consideration has decided to withdraw from participating further in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL and all things Nigerian football,” the club’s statement reads.
This is not the first time the club is withdrawing from a Nigerian league. It could be recalled that the club withdrew from the Nigeria National League, NNL in 2018.
The announcement on Saturday came as a shock to their fans who questioned the rational for the statement. However, the club in a subsequent tweets explained the reason for their decision

“Remo Stars remain committed to the development of football in Nigeria and will continue to do so,” it noted.
Remo Stars are currently second in Group A of the 2023 NPFL abridged league with 20 points from 11 matches.
They will battle Gombe United in matchday 12 encounter on Sunday April 2.
