Former Super Eagles striker Brown Ideye has advised Victor Osimhen to disregard the urge to play in a big club and go to Saudi Arabia to earn money.

The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON winner dropped the advice on his X handle on Wednesday.

Ideye said that money is the main reason people play football adding that at the end one’s career, nobody remembers the trophies a player had won.

“Don’t miss a move that will set you and your family up for life, in football every game you play may be your last.

“You can’t feed your family with trophy, we all play football because that’s the only way out of the hood, we what to have all the good things in life and take care of our family.

“It’s not every Nigerian footballer playing in Europe that is making good money after tax.
It’s a shame they don’t rate him among the top strikers abroad, after an amazing season with his club and winning the African best player award,” he said

Victor Osimhen have been excluded from Napoli’s matches both in pre-season and the league with their boss, Antonio Conte stating that the Africa Footballer of the Year is not in his plans.

Ideye narrated how similar situation forced him out of West Brom and joined Chinese Super league even when he didn’t plan to and urged Osimhen to understand that the most critical period in a footballer s life is life after retirement

“I wish him all the best, because i know how his feeling right now. same thing happened to me at West Brom with Tony Pulis, i had no option than to sign for olympiacos with a pay cut.

“I had no plans to go to China, Olympiacos received an offer from TEDA which they can’t refuse, my agent negotiated with TEDA about my salary and bonuses. When i saw the long numbers and told my wife na she pack my luggage for me to leave the next day LOL…

“What I’m saying in large is every player wishes to play in one of the big clubs in Europe and win trophies, but the goal is after football you want to be comfortable and the only way that can happen is making good money why playing,” he said.

English side, Chelsea and Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia are the team’s battling to sign Osimhen from Napoli.
