The date, venue and time of the first leg second round CAF Champions League match between Plateau United FC of Nigeria and Esperance FC of Tunisia has been confirmed.

The cracker will take place on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja by 4pm.

Following CAF’s non-approval of Rwang Pam Township Stadium for Plateau United’s home matches, the Jos side adopted the national stadium Abuja as their continental home ground.

In a release signed by the Media Officer of the Club, Albert Dakup noted that October 9 is the official date as confirmed by the continent’s football umpire, CAF.

The second leg of the encounter will take place on Friday 14th October 2022 at the Stade Olympique de Rades in Tunisia.

“In 2018 and 2020 when we flew Nigeria’s flag in the CAF Champions League, we played all our home matches on Sundays, except the encounter against USM of Algeria which we played on Saturday at the Agege Stadium in Lagos in 2018,” part of the statement read.

The statement appealed to the general public and the club’s fans to disregard Saturday’s date going around on social and conventional media and come out en mass to support the team to victory come Sunday at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
