COVID-19: Dare, Shooting Stars Wish Gov. Makinde Quick Recovery

The Minister of the Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare and the management of Shooting Stars Sports Club have wished the governor of Oyo State Seyi Makinde quick recovery, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report

The Oyo State Governor Monday announced that he had contracted the dreaded Coronavirus also referred to as COVID-19.

The governor announced Monday that after series of test, the result had come out positive.

Mr Seyi Makinde’s positive result brings to three governors who have tested positive to the virus after Bauchi and Kaduna states had been declared.

The sports minister and the state’s owned football club in separate “get well soon” messages Tuesday joined concerned citizens of Oyo state, family and friends of the state Governor to wish him a quick recovery after he confirmed testing positive to COVID-19.

The Minister commended Governor Makinde for reinforcing the key messaging for slowing down the spread of the virus by deciding to self-isolate even though he is currently asymptomatic.

Mr. Dare said “Your Excellency. I am sorry to hear about your test result on the corona virus. Let me join all concerned citizens of Oyo state and your family and friends to wish you a quick recovery from the effect of the corona virus. 

“I pray the God will heal you and will see you through the period of isolation. Thank you for the courage to be open about it and surely you will bounce back fully ready to continue to govern Oyo State.

“I am certain that you will surely overcome this condition soon having promised to go into self-isolation as required,” the Minister stated.

On its part, the Shooting Stars FC in a message posted on its Twitter handle told the governor that he would come back stronger affirming their supporting and solidarity with the governor at the trying moment.

“It is well with our dear governor, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde. You will surely get over it soonest and you will bounce back stronger by the grace and power of God. We are with you in prayers sir. It is well with Oyo State, Nigeria and the world at large. Peace, be still,” the club said.

As at the time of compiling this report, Nigeria has a total of 135 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
