Dakkada FC Secures Away Victory In Nnewi Against Ifeanyi Ubah
FC Ifeanyi Ubah Football Sunday recorded another defeat in Matchday 3 against visiting Dakkada international FC (0-1) in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) at the FC Ifeanyi Ubah Stadium.
Having undergone series of the recruitment exercise for the 2020/21 season thereby resulting in a home win and loss in akure, the Anambra warriors were poised to get maximum points in front of their home support.
After securing promotion from the lower tier in the 2019/20 season to the elite division, the Uyo based side comprising of youth and experience are confident making a statement in this year’s league.
Both teams tried to control and dictate the pace of the game in the early stage but it was the Dakkada’s Lawrence Kingsley side that capitalised on a defensive blunder.
Former FC Ifeanyi Ubah attacker, Nnamdi Mejuobi finished off a beautiful low cross from Unwana Asuquo inside the 18 yard box in the 29th min to put to his team on the lead, and the slight advantage they held onto till the end of the first 45 mins.
On resumption of the second half, the introduction of nonso nzediegwu and attacking midfielder Uche Onuoha almost paid off as Dakkada’s defense pine combined very well to nullify any threat.
The Uche Okagbue led side threw more players forward in search for an equaliser towards the dine moments of the game but the visitor’s were resolute in seeing out the remaining part of the game.
Speaking to newsmen after the match, a delighted Coach of Dakkada FC of Uyo, Lawrence Kingsley was grateful to God for the victory hinting that his team had worked extra hard to secure maximum points from the game.
Also reflecting on the victory, debutant and former FC Ifeanyi Ubah player, Nnamdi Mejuobi is satisfied scoring the winning goal, acknowledging that the Anambra warriors is a good side that can wreak any team any day.
In his words, Coach of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Uche Okagbue is disappointed with the overall performance of his wards, promising that they would continue to fight for maximum points in their subsequent games.
