Outgoing Kwara United chairman Thompson Oladimeji on Tuesday, August 6, failed to explain in clear terms at Kwara State House of Assembly on what and why the state-owned club, Kwara United was relegated from the Nigeria Professional Football League last season, Bestchoicesports.com.ng understands.
The House of Assembly called for a public hearing so as to brainstorm on the relegation of Kwara United and way forward to take the club back to reckoning.
United’s relegation last season in the Nigeria’s topflight masterminded the gathering at the Kwara State House of Assembly where top football stakeholders were allowed to speak on the club.
While being asked to talk on the rationale that took Kwara United to relegation, Thompson Oladimeji failed to give a reasonable explanation.
He was also molested when he was asked to mention 10 players who played for Kwara United last season in which Oladimeji was only able to name four players.
“It is clear that Oladimeji does not know anything about football considering what we saw today.
“How can a chairman of the club failed to name 10 indigenous players who played for the club last season.
“He kept on talking about lack of fund as if the Government did not give him money to run the club,” a member of the House explained.
Thompson Oladimeji also exemplified his incompetency when he said at the House of Assembly that he got to know that most Kwara United players were signed on loan when the team’s lackadaisical performances began last season.
Before the conclusion of the public hearing, Oladimeji was mandated to go and bring the list of all the people like past players and coaches being owed by Kwara United.
