Ekong, Collins Out Of Eagles/Cameroon Return Leg
By Amaechi Agbo
Super Eagles defenders, William Troost-Ekong and Jamilu Collins will be out of the international friendly match return leg against the Indomitable Lions Of Cameroon, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report
Coach of the side, Gernot Rohr confirmed this in post-match interview on Friday after the three-time Africa Champions lost 1-0 to their arch-rivals in the first leg of double-header friendly in Australia.
Rohr noted that the duo were injured in the match and will not take part in the return leg on Tuesday next week.
The German coach who said that the injury has compounded his headache in the match since 8 key players could not turnup, noted that he would deploy a three-man defense in the encounter.
“We lost two other players to injury and it will be difficult to make up the defence because Ekong and Collins are out (of the second game.) and cannot play.
“We have to manage again a difficult situation but it is an opportunity for us to also play with three defenders only and to change a little bit the system to try something different.
“That is why we are happy to have this second game,” he said.
