Emotional Conversation With Aspiring Golden Eaglets Star, Boluwatife

This is an emotional conversation with a player, Iwuajoku Linus Boluwatife who aspires to play for the national U-17 male team, the Golden Eaglets.

Sir, how can I be given opportunity to play for this team? Because, I think; I am better than some of the left-backs that I am seeing here.

I was shocked with his confidence and self believe. I was forced to ask him, “do you know anybody or is your father the NFF president or President Buhari?’ (jokingly), No, he anseered.

I looked at him and i asked; which team  have you played for? He replied, “no team sir, i just finished secondary school and i am playing for an academy in lagos and i think, i have what it takes to make this team.”

Few hours after he was able to find his way and get on the field to show the stuff that he is made off; Lo and behold the boy did not disappoint. Though, it was obvious that his level of fitness low compare to some of the lads that have been around for weeks. Later, the technical crew asked of  his name and details while  a number was given to  him and told to come back  the following day.

Iwuanjoke Boluwatife Adams is sixteen years old modern day left full-back with thunder in his boot which reminds you of late  Teslim ‘thunder’ Balogun for those who watched or saw some clips of him.

Boluwatife is your dream footballer with dazzling skills and strength above his age. I first saw him on my first day at Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets camp some few days ago while trying to gauge the age of some of the players invited to camp.

Hence, I have been watching out to see whether he would be invited to The Golden Eaglets camp where he can  mix up  with original players invited to camp.

The Golden Eaglets camp has always been an avenue to re-write history and kids go on to change the fortune of themselves and their families.

Can Iwuanjoke Boluwatife Adams be another player who makes it out of the huge reservoir of talented players scattered all over the country begging to be fished out, or will nepotism end its hope of playing for the golden eaglets of Nigeria? Time will tell.
