Enugu SWAN Pays Condolence Visit to Late Christian Chukwu’s Family, Promises Support

The Enugu State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) paid a condolence visit to the widow and family of former Nigerian international and coach, Christian Chukwu, at his residence in Enugu.
Led by the State Chairman, Com. Gideon Iwueke, the delegation expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and honour the legacy of the late football legend.
Speaking after signing the condolence register, Iwueke encouraged the family to remain strong and steadfast in the difficult time, describing Chukwu’s passing as a monumental loss to Nigeria, Enugu State, and the global sporting community.
“Christian Chukwu gave us so much to celebrate as both a coach and player, at the state and national levels
“As representatives of SWAN, we are here to offer our support. We are also in communication with the national body, and we are hopeful they will pay their respects soon,” Iwueke said.
Iwueke further stated that the Enugu SWAN chapter would maintain regular visits and work closely with the burial committee to ensure that Chukwu’s funeral receives comprehensive coverage and fitting representation from the association.
He also prayed for the peaceful repose of Chukwu’s soul and for God to grant the family the strength to bear the irreparable loss. Accompanying the Enugu SWAN chairman during the visit were the Chapter’s acting Secretary, Chibuike Peter; Treasurer, Chibuzor Nwoye; and Financial Secretary, Godwin Unogwu.
