The city of Port Harcourt is set to host one of the most prestigious Preseason Tournament tagged the Governor Wike Cup.

General coordinator of the tournament, Mallam Badawiy Bashir revealed plans have been put in place to make the event successful.

The event is expected to last for 10 days and will have 16 teams in attendance.

Top teams like Enyimba, Kano Pillars, Enugu Rangers, River United, Akwa United, Abia Warriors, Wikki Tourists, Warri Wolves, Kwara United, Nasarawa United, Bendel Insurance and Remo Stars have been pencilled down for the tournament.

Date for the event will be announced as soon as the Presidential task force (PTF) lifts the ban on contact sports.
