All 12 clubs involved in the Super League would be BANNED from their domestic leagues if they pursue their project.

European Super League, my take:

• No chance it’ll happen; it is a threat to UEFA that clubs can organise themselves.

 • The plan will get rejected by FIFA as well as UEFA, so again a non-starter.

• In my view, it is a protest against changes to the UEFA Competitions.

and not go on with the Super League project, but Real Madrid’s president worked behind the scenes and managed to convince 12 teams. He ‘backstabbed’ Ceferin.

Having seen that Florentino Perez went behind UEFA’s back despicably to attempt to create a super league, I speak for ALL fans around the world in saying that Real Madrid deserve a punishment. Banning them from the remainder of the UCL would suffice.

The only positive in all of this is at least Chelsea aren’t one of the clubs highly involved in terms of wanting to be high up the table in terms of being executives. Disappointed in the club but at least there’s no reports of Abramovich forcing it like some others.

The problem with this whole European Super League is a double edged sword. If it doesn’t happen, the five English clubs and other teams who have signed up could face punishment from UEFA and there’s already talk of a ban from the Champions League for a season. Who’s going to watch the Champions League without Real Madrid Barcelona Liverpool Chelsea Juventus and co for a season?

Still embarrassing that we didn’t side with Bayern or PSG in this but at least I haven’t read (yet) that Abramovich or Marina want to be one of the executives in forcing it. A case of “everyone else is doing it, we might as well join in”

Almost all German teams are fan controlled so there’s no chance they’ll join, all of this could be to twist UEFA’s arm to bin the new proposed champions league format.

The 15 founding clubs will get upwards of 300m initially and they’ll have a bigger piece of the pie if it moves forwards, so it may be a case of can’t stop the tide on our own so we might as well join in.

If it goes through, the European Super League will use the NBA model. The play-offs will have teams play 3 matches against each other – the first team to win 2 goes through. The aggregate score will NOT matter.

Florentino Perez will personally announce the Super League. He considers it as the “thing that will save our beloved sport”.

UEFA are preparing a €60bn lawsuit against the European Super League’s founding clubs.
